We are Aligned

Psychology Group

We are heart-lead humans who specialize in trauma therapy. We are passionate about including empathy, authenticity, and creativity in all we do.

A little ABOUT our founders

OUR FOUNDERS CHELSEA AND MEGAN

We started our vision for Aligned as two therapists who were working in a residential trauma treatment center. We have both worked in many different levels of treatment, including crisis centers, residential settings, PHP, IOP, and outpatient treatment. Throughout these experiences, we both came to realize that trauma-informed care was lacking in the mental health system at large. We decided to embark on personal journeys to develop our niche in trauma therapy through countless hours of training, reading, researching, and being clients in our own therapeutic processes.

At our core, we are driven by a mission to provide specialized trauma therapy services that guide our clients toward alignment with their values, inner wisdom, and a deep connection with their most authentic selves.

Our core values center on authenticity, loving-kindness, and empowerment.

I'm Dr. Megan Herzing PsyD, LPCC 11677

I specialize in complex trauma and have worked extensively with individuals experiencing PTSD, C-PTSD, BPD, anxiety and panic, dissociation, mood difficulty, acute stress, and attachment-related issues. Many of my clients have experienced severe and chronic childhood trauma that created a lasting impact on their nervous system. I seek to help you enter into a brave relationship with all parts of yourself as we focus on healing through processing traumatic experiences.

I have a casual style and relate to my clients like a regular person (because I am!). I consider myself to be compassion-focused, strength-based, and attachment-centered. I believe that healthy, secure attachments can be created and modeled in therapy. I show up with energy that is relaxed, caring, thoughtful, and open. I hope to show up in a way that makes you feel seen, heard, understood, and honored.

I'm Dr. Chelsea Levenson

PhD, Clinical Psychologist PSY35520

I specialize in creating a safe and trusting therapeutic space to help clients find the support and guidance to identify and challenge deeply ingrained beliefs that may hinder their wellbeing. My approach helps clients improve their mind-body connection and learn to trust and appreciate their own inner wisdom. I provide clients with tools that they can use from the first session to improve the quality of their lives and relationships. I believe that awareness and self-compassion are the keys to create lasting change. These tools combined with evidence based modalities that help clients process trauma, like EMDR, IFS, and Somatic Therapy, allow clients to heal from their past and move forward with intention and clarity.

Whether addressing past trauma or navigating current stressors, my goal is to help each individual recognize their inherent capacity for healing and transformation. I am committed to helping clients build self-awareness and self-compassion, reconnect with their core values, and develop practical tools to enable them to live more fulfilling and balanced lives.

I specialize in supporting individuals and families through life transitions, personal growth, and healing, with the intention of guiding them back to presence and authenticity. My work weaves together attachment-based interventions, trauma-informed care, and somatic awareness, often enriched by principles of Buddhist psychology. My areas of focus include postpartum depression, grief and loss, trauma recovery, and mind–body wellness. I offer a client-centered, strengths-based approach, rooted in the belief that every individual is the expert of their own lived experience, and that healing emerges through mindful awareness, compassion, and authentic connection.

My personal journey has deeply shaped my work. After losing my parents, I became the full-time caregiver for my sister, my greatest teacher in unconditional love, courage, compassion and strength. Life’s challenges have taught me that although pain is inevitable, finding support and connection with another compassionate soul can make all the difference. It is my honor, and I am deeply grateful to walk with you on your journey toward presence and authenticity.

  • WHAT IS YOUR TREATMENT BACKGROUND?

Our founders have worked in trauma therapy residential, partial hospitalization programs (PHP), intensive outpatient (IOP) treatment, crisis stabilization units, and private practice. Together, they have over 18 years of mental health treatment experience and over 14 years of post-graduate education.

  • WHY DID YOU START ALIGNED?

We realized that trauma-informed care is lacking in the mental health system at large, especially in the outpatient setting. We wanted to fill that gap and bring our unique experience to support clients at that level.

  • WHY DID YOU FOCUS ON TRAUMA THERAPY?

We began our careers working with individuals experiencing severe symptoms, and it quickly became clear that something crucial was missing in how their struggles were understood and treated. The deeper, core issues often went unaddressed, leaving these individuals without the healing they truly needed. This realization inspired us to pursue advanced training in trauma-focused approaches, allowing us to better address the root causes of the challenges our clients face and help them find lasting relief in their daily lives.

We provide a variety of services to meet your individual needs.

We have training and expertise in many different modalities to provide trauma-informed care tailored to you.
